About Reveal

Reveal is a guessing game where a famous face slowly emerges from a heavily pixelated, black-and-white image. At the start of each round you see almost nothing — just blocks of gray. Over sixty seconds the picture clears, color returns, and details sharpen. The sooner you recognize the person and submit the correct name, the more points you earn.

The game is built for pop-culture fans: streamers, musicians, YouTubers, and actors across different categories. You do not need to be an expert in every field — but it helps to know a little about internet personalities, music, and film. Reveal rewards observation, memory, and speed in equal measure.

How Reveal works

Choose a category from the menu, then play five rounds. Each round loads a portrait that begins extremely pixelated and desaturated. Every second, the image improves: pixels shrink, contrast increases, and color gradually fades in. Type your guess in the text field — autocomplete suggestions appear as you type — and submit when you are confident.

  • Streamer English / Streamer German — creators and live-stream personalities from English- and German-speaking communities.
  • Musicians — artists and performers from music scenes worldwide.
  • YouTuber — long-form and entertainment creators from the YouTube ecosystem.
  • Actors — faces from film and television.

Points depend on how early you guess correctly. A correct answer in the first few seconds earns far more than the same answer near the end of the minute. Wrong guesses do not end the round — you can keep trying until time runs out or you get it right.

Scoring and leaderboards

Your session total is the sum of points from all five rounds. Each category has its own Top 10 leaderboard, so specialization pays off: you might top the streamer board even if actors are not your strength. After a session you can enter a display name to save a qualifying score.

The pixelation effect is deliberate. Early in a round you might only see hair shape or jawline; later, eyes and clothing become obvious. Many players develop a rhythm: scan for distinctive features early, commit to a guess before the image becomes too easy, and use autocomplete to avoid spelling mistakes that could cost time.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the image black and white at first?

Desaturating the image removes an easy clue (hair color, skin tone, brand clothing colors) so recognition relies more on shape and familiarity. Color returns gradually as the round progresses.

Does spelling matter?

Yes. Guesses are matched against a curated list of accepted names. Use the autocomplete dropdown when it appears — it helps you submit the exact form the game expects.

Can I guess multiple times in one round?

Yes. Incorrect guesses do not stop the round. Keep trying until you are correct or the sixty-second timer expires.

Why are there separate English and German streamer categories?

Streaming communities differ by language and region. Splitting categories keeps leaderboards fairer and lets players choose the pool they know best.

What if I do not know anyone in a category?

Try another category from the menu. Reveal is meant to be fun, not a test of universal knowledge. Most players have one or two categories where they consistently score higher.

Is Reveal free to play?

Yes. Reveal runs entirely in your browser on lennart.lol. Like other games on the site, it may show advertising to help cover hosting costs.
